History

The ESOC Skin Diving Club was born in 1968 when two French fellows had the bizarre idea of creating a diving club in the middle of Germany, quite away from the sea. The purpose of the club was to join all of those who shared the passion for diving. However in time it developed also to a diving school.

The club as a diving school has gone through several stages. Initially under the auspices of the DUC (Deutsche Unterwasser Club), then following the FFESMM (Fédération Francaise d’Études et de Sports Sous-Marins) training schema, and finally as a member of the BSAC British Sub-Aqua Club. The Club got the status of a BSAC branch entitled to run BSAC courses.

In 2010 the club was renamed as ESOC Scuba Diving Club to be in line with what we really love, scuba diving.
